Creation
Although I heard only a few minutes of this on the news, it would seem that a few more scientists, not sure which discipline, realize now that this universe had to have been thoughtfully created. Years ago I watched a documentary on what may have been the first scientists who also realize this and tried to prove it through the geological record. They did a good job of figuring this out and all with Carbon-14 dating. Interpretation is what was different. My memory isn’t good enough to go into detail but I was impressed by what they found.
So, creation. A supple and all encompassing mind created all that we know and all of what we don’t know. Kind of humbles a person when we look at it scripturally doesn’t it? Kind of puts us in our place, to partake of an ancient phrase. Our place in which we are so small that aliens, if there are any, don’t even know we are here. The bible does not speak of aliens because it speaks of how we should live our lives here on earth, a planet created for us to live on in our human form and biology. We didn’t end up on Mars or Jupiter, did we? It does tell us that this universe is rather large and possibly cumbersome though. It mentions this creation as one by a mind so far above ours that we should probably listen to the words of He who created it all. That is what the bible is about.
I listen to all this about unidentified flying objects, ghosts, different and rather odd thoughts of infinity through the mathematics of men and wonder which of these ever read the bible to find out what it tells us. I always thought college was about getting well rounded in thinking. To be able to cover all the bases in a discussion. Not to poo-poo one thing or another but to use the scientific method to determine facts.
Well, the fact that the bible is fact takes more than listening to TV. It needs to be read and absorbed, thought through and allowed to work inside our heads for a time before we condemn it in any way. Those who condemn it outright are not going anywhere soon. That is a huge mistake to throw out God’s word before trying as hard as a person can to understand those words. No one ever said it was easy, did they? Still, it is a great way to take a pause and be reinvigorated through our day. The bible will not only do this but it will set us on the right path. A path that leads to eternity for each of us.
And the train is pulling up to the depot soon. Right on schedule!
